Joe Bolyard is a West Virginia artist who moved back to Charleston in 1998. Joe works in acrylics, mixed media, ink and also produces pieces with metals, such as pewter, brass and aluminum. Joe’s work varies from small gallery pieces to large commission pieces for peoples’ homes and offices. Joe’s work usually explores depths of colour and texture, with styles ranging from the abstract to ethereal and even spiritual. Joe’s work can be found within Offices and private collections in New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Germany and Ireland.

Raised on a family farm in southeast Ohio, Amelia Schroeder grew with knowledge of life and death and the ways of nature woven into her. Having traveled the far reaches of the states,amelia1 climbed mountains, kayaked open waters and seen the majestic sights, she is still moved by the small details, everyday things, the often overlooked. Schroeder is a Marietta College graduate with a BA in Studio Art and has attended workshops including the New York Studio School. In spite of frequent moves, she has participated in national and international competitions and has continued to show work in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

Both shows open at ArtWalk on March 17th from 5pm -8pm with live music by Tofujitsu.

Romano Law to Feature Tiffany Aliff & Rebecca Burch

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

The Romano & Associates Law Offices will be hosting an exhibit by two artists for the March ArtWalk:

Tiffany Aliff – Photography

“Ordinary to extraordinary, these photographs are ordinary things and everyday occurrences shown from a unique perspective.  Mundane daily life, turned captivating pieces of art.”

Rebecca Burch – Paintings

“My current works reflect an interest in the common techniques shared by early mosaic and fiber artists, the Impressionists, and modern RGB computer graphics.  These pieces speak of contrast — realistic/abstract;
modern/ancient; bright/dark — which is why I find them so much fun to create.”
